你不了解的IB数学

谈到IB课程,想必很多学生和家长都不陌生,它要求学生在规定的6个学科组中每组选一门进行学习,其中三个高等级、三个初等级,每门科目的最高分数为7分,再加上拓展论文(EE)和知识论(TOK)的3分,IBDP总分为45分。


可是,今天老师想和大家说的是,IB仅仅是这样么?IB数学又是怎样的呢?


首先,对于IB课程的解释,IBO组织是这样说的:


The course is presented as six academic areas enclosing a central core.It encourages the concurrent study of a broad range of academic areas.Students study:two modern languages(or a modern language and a classical language);a humanities or social science subject;an experimental science;mathematics;one of the creative arts.It is this comprehensive range of subjects that makes the Diploma Programme a demanding course of study designed to prepare students effectively for university entrance.In each of the academic areas students have flexibility in making their choices,which means they can choose subjects that particularly interest them and that they may wish to study further at university.


从上述的解释中,我们可以看到,IB课程旨在培养学生的能力,从而可以更好的为将来大学的选择和学习做好学术铺垫。


那么对于IB数学来说,官方的解释是怎样的呢,让我们一起来看看。


The aims of all mathematics courses in group 5 are to enable students to:

1. enjoy mathematics,and develop an appreciation of the elegance and power of mathematics

2. develop an understanding of the principles and nature of mathematics

3. communicate clearly and confidently in a variety of contexts

4. develop logical,critical and creative thinking,and patience and persistence in problem-solving

5. employ and refine their powers of abstraction and generalization

6. apply and transfer skills to alternative situations,to other areas of knowledge and to future developments

7. appreciate how developments in technology and mathematics have influenced each other

8. appreciate the moral,social and ethical implications arising from the work of mathematicians and the applications of mathematics

9. appreciate the international dimension in mathematics through an awareness of the universality of mathematics and its multicultural and historical perspectives

10. appreciate the contribution of mathematics to other disciplines,and as a particular“area of knowledge”in the TOK course.


根据IB对于数学的10点要求不难看出,数学的学习和我们平时认知的数学学习有很大的不同,IB数学的学习不仅仅局限于课本和考试,对逻辑能力、批判思维等综合能力的培养和学习显得至关重要。


那么IB数学考什么,接下来老师以IB数学(HL)的考试大纲来帮助同学们分析一下。


Topic 1—Core:Algebra(30H)

Topic 2—Core:Functions and equations(22H)

Topic 3—Core:Circular functions and trigonometry(22H)

Topic 4—Core:Vectors(24H)

Topic 5—Core:Statistics and probability(36H)

Topic 6—Core:Calculus(48H)

Topic 7—Option:Statistics and Probability(48H)

Topic 8—Option:Sets,relations and groups(48H)

Topic 9—Options:Calculus(48H)

Topic 10—Options:Discrete mathematics(48H)


以上10个topic就是IB数学的考纲的要求,其中核心部分是学生必须要学习的内容,另外的option之中,学生选择一个进行学习,而对于大部分的IB学校,通常会选择Calculus进行学习。IBO要求IB数学的教学时长为230小时,Core部分182小时、Option部分48小时。


对于IB数学的学习,老师建议同学们不仅仅局限于课本上的知识和内容,学习形式也不要仅局限于听课和做题。在学习理论知识的同时,也要掌握数学的学习方法和其对于逻辑思维的要求,只有这样,你的IB数学才能学好。
